After School All Star Program


Books & Crafts Club - K - 2

Lauren Drowns/Nelly Almaraz

Students will read a stories and complete a crafts to go along with the book. The stories will pertain to the season or holiday of that month. Students will be introduced to different authors and  illustrations in books. Students will learn how to make their own short story with illustrations.

Computer Games & Skills - 1 - 2

Claudia Quiroz

Students will be taught how to use the basics on the computer. As in how to move the cursor on the screen, how to use the mouse, how to double-click, how to go back, how to type a site and click enter. Students will then have the opportunity to work on IXL for a certain period of time followed by playing educational games on the computer.

Arts & Crafts - 1 - 2

Claudia Carillo

Students will create arts & crafts activities related to holiday themes and other interest they have.

Computers-IXL/Compass 1 - 3

Jen Gonzales

Students will be taught how to use the basics on the computer. Arts & Crafts 3-4

Liduvina Ordaz

Children will get to be creative by allowing them to express themselves through a variety of activities. Also work in groups, share and learn together. Students will be exposed to different kinds of art materials.

Scrapbooking 3 - 5

Rocio Del Real

Students will select their favorites pictures/memories and learn how to create scrapbook layouts using a variety of scrapbook materials. They will also learn how to journal and title their pages. They will use paper, stickers, stamps, letters, templates, crayons, pencils, scissors, etc. to create scrapbook pages that will last them a lifetime.

Latin Dance 3 - 5

Lauren Simonelis

Students will learn dance technique and different styles of latin dance (salsa, bachata, cha-cha and cumbia).  They will also learn a choreographed dance and perform their routine.

Computer Games/ Learning 3 - 5

Amber Reid/Patricia Villarreal

The children will have the opportunity to enjoy the computers for a longer length of time in the after school program. They will enjoy some wonderful learning games, as well as logging on to IXL if they choose.

Creative Writing/Poetry 3 - 5

Johnny Gomez

Creative writing will consist of having students open their minds to express themselves through stories or poems.

Boys Sports 4 - 5

Fernando Gonzalez

The students will learn the sport of baseball-softball, soccer and basketball. The boys will be taught the fundamentals of the sport and how to play. All the while they will be learning the rules and regulations by practicing and interacting with each other as a team.

Boys Fitness 4 - 5

Victor Alvarez

The students will learn the sport of baseball-softball, soccer and basketball. The boys will be taught the fundamentals of the sport and how to play. All the while they will be learning the rules and regulations by practicing and interacting with each other as a team.

Girls Sports 4 - 5

Rebekah Tirres/Jenna Frasor

This program will incorporate different sports for girls.  We will be learning the fundamentals to play each sport.  All the while they will be learning the rules and regulations by practicing and interacting with each other as a team.

Some of the sports include volleyball, soccer, kickball, basketball and yoga!
